An elegant dewy fresh, green floral fragrance, reminiscent of flower filled meadows in the spring sunshine.

This spring, Yardley London introduces its very first premium fragrance, a floral chypre named Polaire – a true celebration of female empowerment.

Chypre fragrances first launched in 1917 and were representative of elegance, sophistication and seduction, instantly synonymous with the Roaring Twenties, a time of prosperity, freedom and fun, alongside significant cultural advances such as the birth of Art Deco and the popularity of dance and jazz music. Women became more liberal in their attitude to life and their approach to beauty, style and fashion.

Coinciding with the launch of Polaire, this May sees the eagerly-awaited re-make of The Great Gatsby – an adaptation of the F.Scott Fitzgerald novel featuring American life in 1922. The book and the original film (1974) are known to thoroughly capture the essence of the Roaring Twenties era. Beautifully chic, modern and purely elegant, Yardley London’s Polaire fragrance was inspired by the re-emergence of the1920s trends.

The Polaire fragrance journey opens with a fresh, fruity green top note of pear and freesia followed by a spicy floral heart of blooming rose, ginger and pink pepper, enhanced with a very sensual, powdery base note of patchouli and amber.

Polaire is named after a silent film actress of the early twentieth century and is presented in a contemporary, yet Art Deco inspired, stylish glass flacon, the epitome of twenties-inspired elegance.
